Week 2: Media Impact
I am proposing a media research project to see if exposure to television helps characterize children and if it leads to good or bad behavior. I would make up a survey asking numerous questions targeting children ages 10 to 18 years old. I would ask them what their favorite show or movie is. I would ask them for their stories that may have involved fighting, drugs, and sex but also to find out if they see that on the television as a normal thing. From there I would see if they have learned good behavior or bad behavior from television and ask them what they thought they mainly learned. My hypothesis is that the television has a huge effect on children's characteristics and actions. Teenagers who watch a lot of television involving sex and drugs are more likely to be involved in situations like that compared to teenagers who don't watch a lot of television.
